Orange-Vanilla Monkey Bread

Orange-Vanilla Monkey Bread

I am an avid food network viewer, have been for my entire life, and yet for some reason I often don’t make the recipes I watch on TV. Last week I saw a recipe on The Pioneer Woman that I could not resist. I made a few small changes and decreased the size for a brunch this weekend before the SF Women’s March. Super easy, delicious, and fun to make! Ingredients: 1 can biscuits 1 orange 6 T unsalted butter 1/2 C white sugar 1/2 C brown sugar 1 T vanilla 1 T cinnamon Recipe: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F Cut each biscuit into sixths; the smaller the bites, the...

Vegan Ginger Ramen

Vegan Ginger Ramen

It has been really really cold for December in California. Yes, yes, I hear your sighs and eyerolls my east coast friends, but 45 degrees F and rain in San Francisco feels like stay-inside-and-hide weather. I’ve been making some soups to help with the cold weather and the crazy colds that seem to be going around. There are a decent number of ingredients, but honestly, this soup is really easy to follow. Try it and stay warm out there friends!! Ingredients 14 ounces firm tofu 10 shitake mushrooms 1 onion diced 3 cloves garlic minced 3 inches ginger cubed 2 carrots,...

Pumpkin Spice Chocolate Thumbprint Cookies

Pumpkin Spice Chocolate Thumbprint Cooki...

What do you do when there is a rain delay during Game 7 of the World Series? You bake cookies of course. Okay, maybe this isn’t what everyones first instinct is, but it definitely was mine last night. I actually came across this recipe when I was in college and then remembered it because it appeared in one of my facebook memories from more than 5 years ago. Made me think it was time to bring this one back for fall. This recipe is SO easy it hardly constitutes baking. I honestly could make these with my 4 year old nephew as long as I operated the oven. I totally get...

Roasted Eggplant Lasagna

Roasted Eggplant Lasagna

It’s been a very wet, rainy weekend in San Francisco which means its the perfect time to start making some Fall appropriate dinners. With weather like this, it is particularly nice to make a recipe with plenty of leftovers that can be reheated for lunch or dinner later in the week. This recipe 100% fits the bill. I always love lasagna (see a pumpkin lasagna recipe here), but this is a nice variation with a roasted eggplant filling base. Definitely can be prepared ahead and then baked the day of serving for an awesome prep ahead meal you are sure to...

Almond Coco-Choco-Bites

Almond Coco-Choco-Bites

I love snack foods, but sometimes it’s hard to resist opening a bag of chips and feeling hungry again 20 minutes later. This recipe fulfills my (constant) chocolate craving and still doesn’t make me feel like I’m cheating.  I especially love them on weeks like this where I am exhausted and constantly running around. Ingredients: 1/2 C old fashioned oats raw 1/2 C almond butter (I used Justin’s almond butter which I got free from Thrive!!) 1/2 C sweetend coconut flakes, toasted 1/3 C flaxseed meal 1/2 C semisweet chocolate chips 1 t vanilla...
